Michigan Grass-fed Beef by the Quarter

We harvest our Grass Fed beef periodically throughout the year. Our Steers are never fed corn!

We sell Grass Fed beef by the quarter, half and whole. Our beef is dry-aged about two weeks, professionally butchered, wrapped and frozen. You will obtain most standard beef cuts: roasts, a variety steaks, ground meat. At the time of processing you may make special requests.

Meat quarters must be picked up on the farm within one week of completion. We do not ship meat.

We sell our beef by the "hanging weight" and each steers size varies. Our animals are always pasture raised and grass fed.

How much actual beef do I get from the cow? 

You will usually obtain 3-5 grocery bags of finished cuts. For a ¼ of a cow you would need approximately 5 cubic feet of freezer space.

How much does the meat cost?

We charge $3.25/lb DRESSED HANGING WEIGHT plus processing/ slaughter fees On average, your final cost will be about $5.00-$8.00/pound.

How much does processing the meat cost?

Steer Price/lb hanging weight is $3.25  Humane Slaughter Fee is $70/steer or $20/quarter  Cutting and Wrapping Fee is .30/lb Hanging Weight
An average carcass will hang at about 600lbs (subtract 30 percent when going from live weight to hanging weight), and then subtract the loss from hanging weight to finished packaged weight (another 25-30%). The average finished product on 600 lb hanging weight will cost about $512.50/quarter.

Can we have any choice in how our meat is cut?

Yes, once your steer has been put down, you will be given a list of standard cuts and you can make adjustments as you like. Check out the cuts you can recieve by viewing our order form.

A $75.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required to reserve your portion for 1/4 steer. A $125 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required for 1/2 or whole steer.

Michigan Free Range Organic Pork by the Quarter/Half

Our free range pork is usually harvested several times a year. We are currently taking deposits for pork. Contact us for information on availability.

We raise Heritage and heritage cross pigs. Our hogs run around free range with a sprinkler to play in and enjoy their time here. Our hogs are fed certified organic and natural feed. Our pork products do not contain nitrates or MSG.

We’ve repeatedly heard great reviews from our customers on the quality and taste of our free range pork This is NOT the same type of pork you can pick up at any store and the taste can't be beat.

Our bacon is smoked without nitrates.

Can I request certain cuts?

You may make special requests and get more information on cuts when you purchase a ½ hog (or more).

How much pork will I get?

A quarter hog yields approximately 30-45 pounds of frozen meat cuts. Our pork is professionally butchered. You will obtain most standard pork cuts: roasts, pork chops, steaks, ground sausage.

A 1/4 pork yields about 1 1/2-2 grocery bags of frozen meat cuts, a ½ hog yields about 3-4 bags

What type of cuts will I recieve?

You will receive a variety of cuts including pork chops, pork steaks, pork roasts, ribs, smoked pork hocks and bacon.

How much does it cost?

 For pork: A Hog quarter is $3.45/lb carcass weight and a half is $3.25/lb carcass weight plus the butcher fees of $30/half kill fee, .38/ carcass lb cutting and wrapping, .48/lb smoking; Average Carcass weighs 170 lbs to 210lbs. Deposits are $75/quarter and $125/half, balance is paid at the time the meat is picked up. Deposits are non-refundable.

What are your chickens fed?

Our chickens are pasture raised In addition to grass and bugs they are being fed certified organic feed and/or GMO free natural feed

In what form do the birds come when we receive them?

The birds come processed and as whole birds. They are freshly frozen and freezer ready.

In what quantities do you sell your chickens?

You must purchase a minimum quantity of ten

What is the cost for chickens?

The cost is $19.50 per bird and the average weight is 4-6lbs ea (or average $3.80/lb)
The deposit for ten birds is $75 and is non-refundable.
