| The average quarter yields approximately 50 - 80 pounds of frozen, professionally butchered meat cuts. You will obtain most standard beef cuts: roasts, a variety steaks, ground meat. Meat quarters must be picked up on the farm within one week of completion. We do not ship meat. Price per quarter is $495. Cost per finished pound averages from $4.50 to $8.00/lb., depending on the size of the steer. We do not push our steers on grain to obtain a higher price per pound. Our steers are butchered at the appropriate age only. Weight (due to feedlot feeding) is not a factor on our farm. Our beef prices include humane slaughter, hanging weight, and cutting and wrapping.
