Happy Holidays from all of us at Old Pine Farm! The holidays are here but the sheep are still eating some grass…. And some turnips!
Farm, Food, Life!
Meet my baby girl…
“BOUNCING BETTY’” We do all the things together that any parent-child might do: She gets “changed” ~ She’s had (expensive) surgery on her insides~ And I keep her joints working and flexible (important for “running”)~ I’ve been asked if we have tractors on the farm and the answer is yes. But for this […]
Pigs and Turnips!
It was a GRAND day on Sunday for the pigs when they were turned into the Turnip and Radish patch I planted. Some of the turnip tops were four feet tall. The pigs rooted, unearthed, and discovered…truly Hog Heaven!
A fun day on the #Farm!
Farm Friends came to feed the #pigs, #chickens, and check out the #grazing #cows!
It’s a “pig-fest”

“Haircuts & Pedicures”
It was our annual sheep shearing day on the farm and a of the few ewe’s lost their winter coat’s (the rest are Katahdin sheep and shed their hair)! Everyone had their toenails cut as well! They are all well groomed now!
“Happy Easter Baby!”
Newborn calves. It’s so nice to see babies that are up bouncing around and active within just a few hours of birth. The photo is of a #Grass Fed #Beef Mom cleaning off baby less than an hour after birth. Just 3 hours after birth, baby was standing and getting milk…albeit a little wobbly! Healthy […]
Spring is here!
Spring is just about here. The robins are arriving and so are the baby calves at our partner farm- The Gardner’s in northern Michigan. Our calves and lambs will start in May and you can tell “The Old Pine Farm Mama’s are getting bigger”! Here’s one of our newest!
